Wall Cabinet Construction

1. Front frame stiles, top and bottom rails are 3/4" thick x 1 3/4" wide.

2. Exposed end is 3/4" thick plywood panel flush with the edge of the front frame. Unexposed end is 1/2" thick plywood recessed 1/4" from the edge of the front frame for trimability. Ends are tongued and engaged in a groove in the front stile. A triangular wood corner bracket is attached in all four corners at the top and bottom.

3. The top and bottom are 1/2" thick plywood panels inserted into a gain in the end panel.

4. The back top and bottom hanger rails are grooved on the inside to accept the top and bottom panels and are rabbeted on the outside edge to accept the back panel, also rabbeted on each end, and interlocked into a rabbet on the back edge of the end panel. The 1/4" back panel is inserted into the rabbet on the back edge of the end panel.

5. 3/4" thick solid wood shelves shaped on the front edge on 12" or shallower cabinets. The shelf is 3/4" thick plywood with tape banding on the front edge for cabinets deeper than 12". Shelves are adjustable in height in 1 1/4" increments on heavy gauge steel captive shelf clips.

6. All cabinets 42" wide or wider have a 2" wide center stile, unless otherwise specified.
